Chasing Better Opportunities - Mansur Turonov

If there's one thing that has defined my journey, it's that I've never been afraid to start

over in search of something better.

After sixth grade, I changed schools almost every year because I wanted to learn in

stronger academic environments. In total, I studied at five schools, four of which

specialized in mathematics and English. For the past two years, I've been a student at

Millat Umidi School in Tashkent. Looking back, every new school taught me more than

academics—it taught me how to adapt, embrace change, and keep pushing myself.

That mindset led me far beyond the classroom. I competed in national and international

Olympiads, explored entrepreneurship, and participated in programs like the LaunchX

Winter Bootcamp, Wharton Global Youth, and the Harvard Project for Asian and

International Relations (HPAIR). Every experience introduced me to people who

challenged my thinking and inspired me to aim higher.

One of my biggest goals became studying abroad. Since I couldn't afford admissions

consulting, I researched everything independently—from essays and scholarships to

interviews and financial aid. That journey led to admission offers from more than 25

universities, including institutions ranked among the world's top 25, top 50, and top 100.

Along the way, I received over US$1.1 million in scholarships, including a full

scholarship from King Khalid University and a full-tuition scholarship from VinUniversity.

However, the achievement I'm most proud of isn't an admission offer or a scholarship.

It's realizing that opportunities become more meaningful when you help others reach

them too.

Today, I'm building an education-focused startup to help students discover international

Olympiads, scholarships, and universities that many never knew were within reach. In

the future, I hope to establish an education center that helps young people become

global citizens by connecting them with opportunities, mentors, and experiences from

around the world.

I've learned that talent exists everywhere, but opportunity doesn't. If I can spend my life

helping bridge that gap, then every challenge, every application, and every new

beginning will have been worth it.
